Sources on the History of Fez

We have heard residents of Fez and visitors alike express surprise on several occasions that the history of the city of Fez is known—and even in some detail—dating back to ancient times.

We must not forget that Muslim civilization reached its zenith during our Middle Ages, and that a city as important and cultured as Fez was bound to have many historians.
